Scan to Ship Changelog

March 6, 2024

  • Manual quantity entry is now possible for orders quantities of more than 10 of the same product. After scanning a single item, an edit quantity button will be made available.
  • Bug fix: Alphanumeric barcodes (for example a Code39 SKU barcode) containing spaces are now read correctly.
February 29, 2024
  • An option has been added to include orders with Cash on Delivery (Shopify calls this "Due on Fulfillment") payment terms to be included in the standard order-by-order workflow. This option can be enabled from the Order Queue settings page.
  • Order payment terms are now displayed within Scan to Ship.
  • A setting labelled "Allow scanning of any unpaid order" has been added that, if turned on, will add a "Start anyway..." button to all unstarted, unpaid order pages, regardless of the order's payment terms. This option will not affect the order-by-order workflow.

  • It's now possible to tag your scanned orders rather than create a fulfilment. A “packed” tag is added to correctly scanned orders and you can find and process those orders as you wish through the Shopify admin. You’ll find the option to tag your order (instead of fulfil) on the order scanning page.

  • Order notes are now editable inline. You won't lose any existing scans when you need to make a quick note on an order.
  • Unpaid for orders are now shown in the orders list (but still excluded from the automatic shipping workflow). This avoids confusion when getting started with Scan to Ship. You can turn off this behaviour and hide all unpaid orders from your Settings page.
  • Bug fix: Fixed a bug that prevented the built-in barcode scanner opening when using Scan to Ship through the Shopify Android mobile app.
December 2, 2023
  • Customer notification settings added. A checkbox has been added to the fulfil order page to allow you to control customer notification of shipment (usually via email). A global default can be set from the Settings page.
November 27, 2023
  • A general setting has been added to treat SKUs as scannable barcodes during fulfilment.

The SKU field value of Shopify product variants can now be treated as an additional barcode for the purpose of fufillment scanning. To enable this, make sure the "Treat SKUs as scannable barcodes" checkbox is checked on your Scan to Ship settings page.

  • Both the number of started and unstarted order counts are now shown in the location selection drop-down, making is easier to see the full state of pending order queues.

November 22, 2023
  • Bug fix: Order search now works when searching on customer name.
  • Bug fix: Fixed a issue affecting the "Unstart & Start Next" button.
  • Unpaid or part-paid orders are more clearly marked as unshippable and these orders are better protected from accidental processing with Scan to Ship.
  • A helpful notification is shown when the user scans a barcode but is viewing an "unstarted" order.
November 16, 2023
  • The graphical feedback when barcode scanning has been improved to make it easier to see what barcode was scanned and when. The visual feedback of "over-scanned" items has also been improved.
  • We have improved the user experience when using the "Fulfil with Scan to Ship" action from the Shopify admin area on orders that are fulfilled, unpaid, or otherwise unfulfillable.
